HOSDB 2011 – Record Attendance
March 22nd to 24th delivered three buy days for the Steatite Team at the 2011 HOSDB show.
A|D|S hailed the success of HOSDB 2011, the Home Office’s annual security exhibition.
The event was said to be bigger than ever in 2011 and after three successful days at Farnborough in Hampshire, the official show figures have revealed that a total 429 companies exhibited at the event, had over 3,500 registered visitors with over 600 international attendees from more than 50 countries were also present.
A|D|S, the UK’s aerospace, defence, security and space trade organisation runs the event on behalf of the Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB) at Farnborough.
The Team experienced three busy days at the show that enabled the team to meet many of our current customers while receiving new interest from visitors who approached us with specific requirements and technical questions, which resulted in a whole series of project ideas.

This week was about showcasing our capabilities to the security and defence authorities in the UK and internationally. In addition to the capabilities and product that Steatite currently provide to local authorities in the UK, we now look forward to exploring the global opportunities for this sector that this show has delivered to us with approved partner nations”
Attending on the Steatite stand was Mike Mountfield, Sales Director, Paul Edwards Battery division sales manager, Sebastian Leaver rugged systems project manager and Debbie Reed Steatite Marketing Manager.


Steatite have officially opened their new self contained purpose built facility located within the Ravensbank Business Park in Redditch, Worcestershire. Sajid Javid, MP for Bromsgrove and Karen Lumley, MP for Redditch County, unveiled a plaque to mark the relocation.
During 2010 profits in the first half of the year rose by 48% with sales increasing by 22% compared to the same period last year. This result reflects the growth of new product development, key target market penetration and a strategy of focus on our key customer base.
Over the Christmas period Steatite are moving our operations to a new self contained purpose built facility located within the Ravensbank Business Park in Redditch, Worcestershire. This is a prime location only 4 miles from the M42 (J3) which makes our new site extremely accessible to all our customers’ nationwide.
During the show Steatite demonstrated its capability as a specialist design and manufacturer of long life embedded computers and customized battery packs, with a focus on in vehicle and rugged mobile computing.
